The Politics of False Morality
The constitution of this country highlights the need for separations of powers of the church and the state; the election thus seems a travesty of this democratic ideal that has served so well for 215 years -the religious extremist minorities of Southern Ohio and many other states have hidden their prejudices under the banner of “moral righteousness” to re-elect the most immoral President ever to serve this country.
...and the Politics of Fear
Bush and the Republicans (especially Cheney) backed this up with the concept of fear - persuading the American populace that bogeymen are ready to strike. This fear seems to have blinded people into
(a) supporting Bush's immoral war that has killed more than 100,000 Iraqis and
(b) curtailed our liberties in ways no Democratic President would ever have attempted.
George Orwell's big brother concepts of 1984 may be 20 years late, but they are alive and well in this rapid erosion of personal freedoms.

At least in Chicago we have laid an egg of democracy - hopefully it will hatch very soon...
After 4 more years/wars of these guys, everybody should be ready for a Barach and Hilary Presidential ticket
